Covid-19 hits 120 more Filipinos abroad

MANILA, Philippines — The total number of overseas Filipinos sickened with Covid-19 neared the 13,500-mark after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 120 additional cases on Thursday.

The new infections, which were reported from the Middle East and Africa, pushed the total of cases among Filipinos abroad to 13,498, according to DFA.

Of the number, 3,987 are still undergoing treatment, DFA’s data showed.

“The reported increase is due to late reports owing to privacy concerns in one country in the said region,” the department said.

No new recoveries or fatalities were recorded. The number of recovered patients remains at 8,585 while death cases were at 935.

In the Philippines, have been recorded so far, including the 25,614 “active” patients, 459,252 survivors, and 9,739 deaths.
