Relatives of Manila hostage-taking victims arrive in Manila

/ 11:43 PM August 21, 2011

MANILA, Philippines—A relative of a victim of last year’s Manila hostage crisis expressed “disappointment” over the Philippine government’s slow resolution of the incident, saying none of those deemed accountable of the bungled rescue have been punished.

Tse Ching Hang said the victims also sought a formal apology from the Philippine government, which he and four other relatives of victims hope to accomplish with their arrival in Manila Sunday night.

They are accompanied by To James Kun-sun, a councilor of Hong Kong’s legislative assembly, who said the group will hold a press conference Monday.—Miko Morelos
