MANILA, Philippines鈥擳he European Union delegation in the Philippines held strong to the word of the Philippine National Police that the force will take immediate action regarding the media killings in the country, a statement said.

For the past two weeks, attacks left three media men workers dead and one wounded that prompted the delegation to express their concern over the events.

The most recent casualty was radio journalist Rogelio Butalid of Radyo Natin in Tagum City on December 11.

The EU Delegation recalled the Resolution of the European Parliament on impunity in the country adopted on June 14,2012 that called on the Philippine Government to take further measures in order to end impunity.
