Airbus Foundation sends fresh aid to Yolanda victims

MANILA, Philippines – Tons of medical supplies, food and water sanitation equipment arrived in Manila over the weekend as aid efforts continue for the victims of Supertyphoon Yolanda in the Visayas.

A A330, a new aircraft of the Philippine Airlines (PAL), arrived in Manila last Saturday, carrying four doctors, a nurse and 5.6 tons of medical and food supplies for the survivors of Yolanda.

This is the fourth humanitarian flight to the Philippines by Airbus Corporate Foundation and Action Against Hunger, Aviation Without Borders and Humedica in close collaboration with PAL.

“The consequences of the typhoon are such that the Philippines is still in desperate need of food, water sanitation equipment and medical aid,” Andrea Debanne, executive director of Airbus Corporate Foundation said.

Debanne said their foundation is continuously working with its partners in order to support victims of natural disasters over the world by facilitating the shipping of humanitarian goods and equipment.

To date, the Airbus Corporate Foundation has completed 38 relief, or goodwill flights to various destinations around the world, and has built up a global network of airlines and relief organizations to support its international humanitarian causes.
