Broad coalition sets typhoon recovery fund-raiser in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO—A broad coalition of elected officials, community leaders and organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area has been formed to help raise disaster relief funds for 10.3 million people affected by Supertyphoon “Yolanda” in the Philippines, of which over 4 million were left homeless.  Over 4,000 people were killed and thousands remain unaccounted for.

The Bay Area Typhoon Recovery Benefit for the Philippines will be held at Drake SF, 508 4th St., San Francisco, on Nov. 22 at 6 p.m.-11p.m. (6 p.m. networking, 8:30 p.m.  program, 10 p.m. fashion show andauction). See Facebook: .

Event co-chairs Steven Lee, Keesa Ocampo and Rebecca Delgado-Rottman, Deputy Consul General Jaime Ramon Ascalon of the Philippine Consulate General of San Francisco and Bleu Blakslee of Save the Children are available for interviews.

Requested minimum donation at the door is $20; proceeds will be given to Save the Children (), ABS-CBN Foundation International, Feed the Hungry, and Global Fund for Women.
