US networks open signal to TFC during 鈥榊olanda鈥� crisis

CENTENNIAL, Colorado—International Media Distribution (IMD) has announced the early results of their appeal for operators to open the signal to TFC (The Filipino Channel) in the wake of Supertyphoon “Haiyan”/”Yolanda.”
Over the weekend, Bright House Networks, Hawaiian Telcom and Time Warner Cable made TFC available to all digital customers at no additional cost in cities where TFC is carried. The signal will remain open through Nov. 15.
During relief efforts of one of the world’s biggest storms, TFC has been providing special coverage on the ground in the Philippines.
Yolanda was 3.5 times more powerful than Hurricane “Katrina,” which hit the US eight years ago.
TFC is the No. 1 Filipino network in the world and available in the United States as a premium channel from coast to coast.
