NEW YORK—Acclaimed documentary film “Rescue in the Philippines” will be shown at the United Nations headquarters and the US Capitol in November.

Narrated by actor Liev Schrieber, “Rescue in the Philippines” is the story of an eclectic group of poker buddies who acted during one of history’s darkest eras to save 1,300 Jews from Nazi tyranny.

These rescuers were Manuel Quezon, the President of the Philippines; Paul McNutt, US High Commissioner; Army Colonel Dwight Eisenhower; and the Frieder brothers, Cincinnati-based cigar makers.
