British Council offers summer school to winner of essay writing contest

THE British Council Philippines, together with British Airways, is offering one high school student to join a 3-week Summer School at St. Edmund’s College for free.

The contest is open to Philippine passport holders aged 12-15 years old by Jan. 1, 2011.

Interested applicants may submit to the British Council a 300 to 500-word essay on the topic “Why do I want to go to the UK” along with a copy of their passport.

All entries must be received by 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 6.

FEATURED STORIES

Entries will be judged according to content, style and organization.

Five finalists will be selected after the first round and will be invited for an interview by a judging panel before a winner is announced on May 16.

The British Council will provide return airfare, refund of visa processing fee and tuition for the summer school.
