4 flights from NAIA to Hong Kong cancelled, others delayed

MANILA, Philippines—At least four flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to and from Hong Kong were cancelled on Wednesday as typhoon Utor (known as typhoon Labuyo in the Philippines) battered the Chinese territory and nearby areas.

The Manila-bound Cathay Pacific Airways CX-902 and the Macau-bound Philippine Airlines flight PR-352 to Macau, together with their return trips, were cancelled, according to the Manila International Airport Authority, government operator of NAIA.

The severe weather affecting the Hong Kong International Airport also delayed the departure or arrival of some flights.

Flights CX-904 and CX-912 were supposed to depart for Hong Kong at 6:20 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. but were only able to do so at around 12:16 p.m. and 1:07 p.m.

The departure from NAIA Terminal 2 of PR-300 was originally set for 8:05 a.m. but rescheduled to 10:10 a.m. and later 2:20 p.m. The flight was able to leave at around 4:25 p.m., according to the MIAA.

Four other PAL flights going to or coming from Hong Kong were delayed by 30 minutes to an hour.

The MIAA called on passengers to keep in touch with their airlines for cancellations, delays and re-bookings.
