MANILA, Philippines鈥擳he team of investigators from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will ask for an autopsy report on the Taiwanese fisherman who was killed last May 9 along northern Philippines, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said Tuesday.
De Lima said the relatives of Hung Shih-Cheng turned down the request of the NBI eight-man team to re-autopsy the victim.
鈥淲e cannot force them [family] to agree to a re-autopsy,鈥� De Lima told reporters Tuesday.
She said the Philippines has the same policy of asking the family of the victim for permission before conducting an autopsy.
Aside from the re-autopsy, the NBI team headed by Division head agent Daniel Deganzo is also set to examine the fishing vessel and interview its crew.
