MANILA, Philippines鈥擳he temptation to gamble must have been too hard to resist for a Korean casino junket employee who ended up losing more than P13 million of his company鈥檚 money.
Shin Yun-jae, manager for casino junket operator Pink Dolphin, now faces a qualified theft complaint, after he admitted that he stole P13.5 million from his company鈥檚 vault.
After taking the money, he went on a gambling spree at a casino in Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.
鈥淐asino junkets鈥� are casino trips or tours organized by an operator for regular gamblers.
Chief Supt. Rodolfo Llorca, Pasay police chief, said that the suspect 鈥渁bused the trust and confidence [placed in him] by his company鈥�.鈥�
After he lost the money through gambling, Shin confessed to his superiors on Tuesday evening.
After conducting its own investigation, Pink Dolphin, represented by complainant Kim Sang-yoon, turned over the suspect to arresting officer SPO1 Fraulz Paduga on Wednesday.鈥�With Alex Austria
