MANILA, Philippines—Three Royal Thai navy ships arrived at 8 a.m. Friday in South Harbor in Manila for a goodwill visit, the Philippine Navy said.

The ships–HMTS Chao Phraya (455),  HMTS Bangpakong (456) and  HMTS Pattani (511)—will be in the country from February 15 to 19.

The ships are under the command of Rear Admiral Sucheep Whoungmaitree, the commander of the Royal Thailand Naval Cadet Training Unit.  There are 759 officers, naval cadets, enlisted personnel and non-military rank personnel on board.

The Thai officials are scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and Manila Police District Director Senior Superintendent Alejandro Gutierrez.
