Taiwanese trader killed in robbery try–police report

MANILA, Philippines—A Taiwanese businessman was found dead, with his neck slit open, Monday morning, as suspected thieves tried to steal valuables from the warehouse where he operated his business in Caloocan City.

The Caloocan Police identified the victim as Andy Wang, 28, manager of the Wei Dynamic Service Center, a firm engaged in wholesale television distribution with headquarters in the warehouse along Macabagdal Street, where he was found dead.

Caloocan Police learned that the robbery-murder happened at around 6 a.m. on Monday, just as Wang was opening the warehouse for business.

The robbers sneaked into the warehouse as Wang was opening it. They then hit the victim on the head several times, and used a hacksaw to saw off his head.

After seeing that Wang had died, the robbers then took the cellphone in the pocket of his pants.

They then proceeded to the vault inside the warehouse and, using a drill, tried to pry open the vault, but failed.

Wang’s lifeless body was found by one of her female relatives long after the suspects had left.

The Caloocan police are still investigating the crime, and were looking at three suspects in the case.
