E-passport processing back to normal, says DFA

MANILA, Philippines—Finally, the electronic passport operations at the Department of Foreign Affairs are back to normal.

At the same time, the Office of Consular Affairs continues to “work hard to improve services in our Regional Consular Offices (RCOs) and Foreign Service Posts (FSPs),” said DFA Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs Jaime Victor B. Ledda.

The DFA said it implemented measures to address the backlog in passport processing, including increasing passport appointments to 5,000 everyday, extension of appointment hours and extension of passports validity.

Currently, the DFA processes passports from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Friday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday.

Passport applicants in Manila may secure an appointment within two weeks by logging on to www.epassport.com.ph or by calling (632) 737-1000.
