MANILA, Philippines—A German diver who assisted in search and retrieval operations for the two pilots who were in a plane crash with Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo suffered decompression sickness upon ascent Tuesday afternoon.

Vice Admiral Edmund Tan of the Philippine Coast Guard identified the diver as Danny Brumbach, 31.

He said he was “okay and stable” after being placed in a decompression chamber of the BRP Edsa.

The two other pilots with Robredo, Captain Jessup Bahinting and Nepalese co-pilot and flight student Kshitiz Chand, have yet to be recovered.
