Ayala firm submits bulk water proposal to Capitol
THE Cebu provincial government is exploring a possible bulk water supply project with the Manila Water Company, Inc.
Representatives of the water company submitted to Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia on Tuesday its unsolicited proposal for a joint investment with the Capitol for the development and delivery of treated bulk water to the province.
Under the proposal, Cebu Bulk Water Supply Project (CBWSP), Manila Water will supply 35 million liters per day of potable bulk water sourced from the Luyang River of Carmen town in northern Cebu.
The project will meet the growing water supply needs of Lilo-an, Danao, Compostela, Consolacion, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City and Cordova.
The project will be implemented under the Joint Investment (JI) Guidelines issued by the Cebu Provincial Board, which describes the standards and procedures for a joint investment agreement with the province.
