MANILA, Philippines – A lawmaker on Monday expressed alarm over China’s supposed practice of harvesting organs from its executed prisoners.

Bagong Henerasyon party-list Representative Bernadette Herrera-Dy voiced apprehension for the fate of some 44 Filipinos in China who have been sentenced to death after news of the alleged practice was released by international news wires.

She asked whether the organs of the recently executed Filipino prisoners had also been harvested without consent for Chinese patients.
