3rd batch of Israel-based OFWs now in PH

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine government on Monday welcomed the third batch of Filipino repatriates from war-torn Israel — 25 of them, including an infant, Toby Nebrida, spokesperson of the (DMW), told reporters on Monday.
In a separate statement, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) 22 of the repatriates are female and three male. Most of them — 17 in all — worked as caregivers and the remaining eight were hotel workers.
“Our compatriots from Israel will receive financial assistance, skills training, and others from various branches of the government, to help for their return to the country,” OWWA said in Filipino.

Article continues after this advertisementSo far, the government has assisted 50 Israel-based Filipino workers in their repatriation.
Earlier, the Department of Foreign Affairs said the repatriation of Filipinos in the Gaza Strip would be more difficult than repatriating those in Israel.
