MANILA, Philippines — Department Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Enrique Manalo on Friday reported holding a “great meeting” with his Japanese counterpart to discuss “deeper cooperation” between Manila and Tokyo.

Manalo expressed his appreciation to Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshihama for their talk. On Twitter, he wrote: “We covered a lot of ground, [including] a discussion on areas of deeper cooperation, such as space, maritime issues & cybersecurity.”

“We will continue to work closely together in solidifying our Strategic Partnership,” he added.
