Japan gives aid to Typhoon Odette survivors in PH

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines received emergency assistance packs from the Japanese government for those affected by Typhoon Odette (Rai), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Friday night.
The Japanese government, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), delivered the aid which includes generators, sleeping mattresses, sleeping pads, and dome tents.
Among those present to receive the emergency assistance packs were Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koshikawa Kazuhiko, JICA chief Rep. Azukizawa Eigo, and representatives from the DFA and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

has risen to 367, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said on Saturday, Christmas Day.

Meanwhile, 51 were still missing and 659 people were injured from the country’s strongest typhoon this year.
