PH to ban travelers from 2 ‘red list’ areas from Nov. 16-30

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines will be banning travelers from the Faroe Islands and the Netherlands from Nov. 16 until Nov. 30, Malacañang said Friday.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the two areas are now included in the “red list” of areas with travelers barred from entering the Philippines.

Under guidelines from the government’s pandemic task force, inbound travel of all persons coming from or who have been to red list areas within the last 14 days prior to arrival to the Philippines shall be prohibited.

Only Filipinos returning to the country via government-initiated repatriation, non-government-initiated repatriation, and Bayanihan flights may be allowed entry, subject to testing and quarantine protocols.

Meanwhile, the government updated its of countries, where travelers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are no longer required to undergo facility-based quarantine as long as they present negative RT-PCR results.
