USAID Opportunity 2.0 calls for applicants for grants for out-of-school youth engagement

In recognition of the youth as partners for positive change and next-generation leaders, USAID Opportunity 2.0 program is encouraging youth-serving organizations to send in applications for the, “Grants for Advancing Out-of-School Youth Engagement.”

Legally registered youth-serving organizations, for-profit firms, non-profit organizations, faith-based groups, CSR groups, NGOs implementing programs in Opportunity 2.0 sites for at least two years are welcome to apply for the said grant.

USAID Opportunity 2.0 youth

The 12 covered Opportunity 2.0 cities where eligible institutions should be located are: Angeles City, Legazpi City, Quezon City, Valenzuela City, Cebu City, Tagbilaran City, Zamboanga City, Isabela City, Cagayan de Oro City, General Santos City, Cotabato City, and Davao City.

USAID Opportunity 2.0 youth

The grant program enables existing youth-serving organizations to implement activities and programs for the younger Filipino generation, and to serve their communities better, with the end goal of meeting education, economic growth, and health objectives amid the health crisis.

Up to three grant awards for each covered city can be issued by USAID Opportunity 2.0. Awardees will receive funding for programs and activities amounting to Php 500,000 for up to one year. 

Interested applicants are required to submit the following:

  • Grant application cover letter
  • Completed grant application form and description of the proposed approach
  • Organizational capacity
  • Monitoring and evaluation plan
  • Implementation wokrplan
  • Cost estimate with budget narrative

The proposal should incorporate content regarding youth engagement in the 21st century, such as youth leadership coaching, mentoring, and volunteerism, enhancing youth participation in community digital transformation, and youth health and mental wellness. Those interested to apply should also be prepared to initiate projects as early as February 2022.

Applicants are required to submit their proposal in English, and all applications must be saved in one or more of the following formats: Word, PDF, or Excel. All applications must be sent via email to [email protected] on or before 11:59 p.m. on October 31, 2021.
