Qatar looking to donate Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines to Filipino Muslims — Galvez

MANILA, Philippines — Qatar is looking to donate Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines to the Philippines for its Muslim population, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said Friday. 

“We’re looking at the possibility sa diplomatic relations natin sa Qatar. Maganda ang relations natin and they wanted to donate Sinovac for our Muslim brothers,” he said in an interview on ABS-CBN’s TeleRadyo.

Galvez did not mention the number of vaccines the Qatar government is willing to donate but noted that the Muslim population in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao is around 2.8 million.

Qatar wants to hire Pinoy health workers

Galvez earlier said the Philippines is , including 10 million Sinovac doses and one million doses of Sinopharm donated by the Chinese government.
