'Deeply impressed’: German envoy donates food to Maginhawa community pantry

MANILA, Philippines — German Ambassador to the Philippines Anke Reiffenstuel was “deeply impressed” by the solidarity of Filipinos when she visited the Maginhawa community pantry, the highly popular initiative that rekindled “bayanihan” across the country.

Reiffenstuel met Maginhawa community pantry organizer Ana Patricia Non and donated food items for the neighborhood free food and essential supplies station this week.

“Been at Maginhawa #CommunityPantry today, donated food items. Deeply impressed by the solidarity spirit of the Filipinos. Great respect for the volunteers and the initiative,” she wrote on Twitter on April 21.
