DFA records 1 new COVID-19 infection among Filipinos abroad

MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Foreign Affairs on Saturday reported one new COVID-19 infection among Filipinos living abroad.

In an update posted on its official Twitter account, the DFA said that the lone individual who contracted the virus was from the Asia and the Pacific region.

The one recorded infection is a steep decline from the 13 the DFA tallied on Friday.

There is now a total of 11,559 confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad with 3,247 undergoing treatment and 7,478 already recovered or were discharged from medical facilities.

There were 834 deaths recorded while there are 82 countries where Filipinos tested for COVID-19.
