8 Filipinos hurt in Abu Dhabi blast; 3 still recovering – DFA

MANILA, Philippines — Three Filipinos are still recovering in a hospital from the injuries they sustained during Monday’s restaurant gas explosion in Abu Dhabi, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

In a short statement late Wednesday, the DFA said there were a total of eight Filipinos reported injured in the blast, five of whom had already been discharged from the hospital.

“The remaining three Filipinos are recovering in two separate hospitals,” it added.

The DFA said the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi would continue to monitor the situation of Filipinos there as it remained ready to extend assistance.
