Immigration agents arrest Korean fugitive wanted for fraud

Immigration operatives have arrested a Korean fugitive wanted in his country for committing fraud by swindling 73.6 million Korean Won from his victims.

Park Kyung Hyun, 40, male, was arrested by Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) agents on Wednesday along Sucat Road in Parañaque City.

“Subject (Park) is undocumented and poses risk to public safety and security being a fugitive from justice as per official communication from Consul Kwon Gun A., Embassy of the Republic of Korea dated 24 April 2018,” an FSU spot report stated.

According to the FSU, the Korean Embassy said that Park was included in the International Criminal Police Organization’s (Interpol) Red Notice list.

The fugitive was also slapped with an arrest warrant for fraud by Korean courts, it added.

“He defrauded his victim amounting to 73,600,000 Korean Won as he promised 306,630 shares to his victim,” the report said.

The FSU has already escorted Park to the Bureau of Immigration Warden Facility for commitment. /je
