Dole warns of fraudulent job offers in UK

/ 07:00 AM March 21, 2018

The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) had warned the public anew of another fraudulent scheme preying on Filipinos wanting to work in London.

Acting on a report of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in London, Dole said that a fake online account, ([email protected]), claiming to be that of the Philippine Embassy in the United Kingdom, was recruiting Filipinos for nonexistent jobs.

The fraudulent scheme was exposed when a report reached the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in London about the fake e-mail address, which offers UK working visas.

The PTIC quickly responded and clarified that the e-mail address was not of the Philippine embassy nor any Philippine government agency. —Tina Santos
