DLSU law team ranks 3rd in international moot competition

A team of law students from the De La Salle University College of Law (DLSU-COL) ranked third in the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) International Arbitration Moot Competition, which was held from Nov. 2 to 5 in in Boston, Massachusetts.

The DLSU Office for Strategic Communications made the announcement on Saturday.

The contest drew teams from 104 schools worldwide. The DLSU-COL team was the only one from the Philippines to make it to the finals.

The DLSU-COL team is made up of oralists Julia Therese Pineda and Edwin Roberto Concepcion, who ranked as the competition’s second and third highest advocates, respectively, along with Michelle Laureta and Kylie Dado.

The DLSU provided support to the team. They were coached by international law practitioners, Foreign Attorney Dr. Harald Sippel and London Attorney Amanda Lee.

The FDI Arbitration Moot is an annual competition organized by the Center for International Legal Studies in cooperation with the following founding institutions: FDI 2017 host school Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts; Pepperdine University Law School in Malibu, California; Centre of European Law of the King’s College London; and the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS) in Frankfurt/Cologne, Germany. /atm
