GUIGUINTO, Bulacan – Two Koreans and a Chinese were rescued on Monday by the police from a safe house here after they were reportedly abducted by their suspected Chinese captors.

Businessman Yeum Sun Ki was abducted at 4 a.m. on Monday in Malate, Manila and was kept at the safe house on Ilang Ilang Street in Barangay Sta. Cruz here with two other victims when the police found them at 8:25 p.m., said Supt. Orlan Castil, Guiguinto chief of police.

The Korean Embassy in Manila immediately sent an e-mail to the police about the supposed kidnapping as well as description of the safe house, Castil said.

He said Guiguinto policemen, members of the Anti-Kidnapping Group and embassy officials went to the house and found the two other victims.

The police also detained five suspects, who, Castil said, were Chinese money lenders believed to be part of a group targeting Chinese and Korean businessmen.
