Expect clearer weather on Monday as tropical storm Huaning (international name Haitang) moved farther away from the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the state weather agency said.
In its 8 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical Astronomical Services Administation (Pagasa) said Huaning was last spotted 750 kilometers north-northwest of Basco, Batanes.
The weather track saw Huaning hit the coast of eastern China at about 5 a.m. It was packing maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
Moderate to heavy rainfall will affect areas within 400 km diameter of the storm, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, scattered light rain showers and thunderstorms will affect different parts of the country, including Metro Manila, northern Luzon, Cebu and Davao cities.
