SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna — A barangay tanod (village watchman) shot and wounded a Korean national when the foreigner reportedly disrupted a wake in Dasmariñas City in Cavite province early Tuesday.

The Korean national Kwaung Yhul Heo, 46, a resident of Greensite Subdivision in Barangay Sampaloc 2, was reportedly drunk when he went to a wake in the village and tried to attack the mourners with a bladed weapon at around 12:30 a.m., a report from the Cavite police said. The Korean, however, did not hurt anyone.

The police report did not identify the dead but said that in the crowd was Kwaung’s Filipina live-in partner who was at that time “playing cards.” The report also did not identify the Filipina.
