Duterte presents awards to 23 for development work, aid to OFWs

MANILA — President Duterte on Monday led the presentation of awards to 23 individuals and organizations recognized for their efforts to contribute to Philippine development initiatives, or promote the interests of overseas Filipino communities.
Mr. Duterte presented medals to the awardees of the 2016 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas during ceremonies in Malacañang palace.
The Lingkod sa Kapwa PIlipino awardees were Edgard Aragones from Israel, Pagyamanin Likas Musika from the US, Reunion Cloppenburg from Germany, and Marina Sulse from the US.
The award is conferred on Filipino individuals or organizations for their exceptional or significant contribution to reconstruction, progress and development in the Philippines.
The Kaanib ng Bayan awardees were Erlend Johannesen from Norway, Sabine Korth from Germany, Fahdel Sheikh from Pakistan, Tzu Chi Foundation from Taiwan, and Sabine Katharina Weiss from Germany.

Article continues after this advertisementThe Banaag awardees were Marilou Chin, Fidel Escure from Qatar, the Australia-based Kapit-Bahayan Cooperative Ltd., Rodrigo Maristela, the US-based Philippine Nurses Association of Metropolitan DC, and the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers- Central Region Saudi Arabia.
This award is conferred on Filipino individuals or organizations for their significant contribution to advance the cause or promote the interests of overseas Filipino communities.
The Pamana ng Pilipino awardees were Eduardo Araral from Singapore, Manuel Asuncion from Australia, Danilo Buan from the US, Guillermo Capati from Australia, Emmanuel Liban from he US; Paulino Lim Jr from the US, Hernan Reyes from the US, and Rommel Sergio from the United Arab Emirates.
This award is given to Filipinos overseas, who, in exemplifying the talent and industry of the Filipino, have brought the country honor and recognition through excellence and distinction in the pursuit of their work or profession. SFM
