Free films, exhibits, contests at French Embassy鈥檚 Climate Week
The French Embassy in Manila will hold on October 5 to 11 a series of Climate Week events themed “COP21: The Road to Paris Starts in Manila.”
In support of the 21st Conference of Parties (COP21) or 2015’s climate change negotiations to be held in Paris in December, the French Embassy has organized conferences, film screenings, art exhibits and concerts during the said week.

On October 5, the Climate Week will open with a reception at the Alliance Francaise de Manille, followed by a photo exhibit on the environment by Wawi Navarroza, Veejay Villafranca and MM Yu. Later in the evening, invited guests will be treated to the premiere screening of Briccio Santos’ “When Heaven Wept,” which tackles the aftermath of typhoon “Yolanda” (international name: Haiyan).
From October 6 to 9, conferences will be held in various universities in Metro Manila. There will also be free film screenings and art exhibits performances.
Article continues after this advertisementA free concert dubbed “Climate Rhythms” will be held at the Rizal Park Open Air Auditorium on October 10.
Article continues after this advertisementThe culminating event will be a symbolic bike run from Kilometer Zero to the SM Mall of Asia Globe.
Those interested in participating in the Climate Week may attend the events or join contests and exhibits.
For the exhibit at Archivo 1984 Gallery, artists interested in participating may e-mail [email protected] until September 27.
Meanwhile, French-speaking youth can join the French poetry contest on climate change. Deadline of entries is until September 27.
