Korean found dead in his room in Lapu-Lapu City

CEBU CITY, Philippines — A Korean national was found dead inside his rented room in Datag, Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City, shortly before 11 a.m. on Monday.

While the police are eyeing a possible suicide, Police Officer 3 Samuel Evalle of the station 2 of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, said investigation is under way to find out if there was no foul play on his death.

The victim was identified as Oh Jun Kwan, 34, single.

Initial investigation showed that the victim may have committed suicide by tying a belt around his neck while the other end was also tied at the door knob of his room.

If indeed he committed suicide, Evalle said, investigators are checking on two possible motives including reports that he had incurred debts because of his casino activities as well as a possible love triangle.
