SAN FRANCISCO — Filipinos suffer disproportionately from lifestyle-related chronic diseases such as obesity, hypertension, and diabetes due to poor diet and sedentary lifestyles, according to US studies. Seven out of 10 Filipinos in California are overweight or obese.

These and other observations on the health of Filipinos in the US will be tackled at the First Annual National Filipino Health Equity Symposium on Saturday, April 25, 1 p.m. at the Philippine Center on 447 Sutter Street.
