MANILA, Philippines–‎For bringing a loaded firearm in his luggage, an American national was held at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3 on Thursday morning.
Ray Moyer, 69, was arrested by Philippine National Police’s Aviation Security Group after authorities found a loaded .22 caliber in the check-in luggage.
‎Chief Superintendent Christopher Laxa, PNP Avsegroup chief, told Inquirer.net by the phone that Moyer was about to board Delta Airlines flight DL 276 bound for Narita, Japan.
Laxa said ‎the handgun was detected when security personnel checked Moyer’s bag through the airport’s X-ray scanner.
‎He was then transferred to the Avsegroup intelligence and investigation division for questioning.
