Filipinos in Colorado turn out for passports, dual citizenship

AURORA, Colorado – Filipinos in the Aurora and Colorado Springs areas of the Rocky Mountain State got much-needed passport, civil registry and legal services from the Consulate on Wheels team from San Francisco.
The outreach was coordinated with volunteers from the Filipino American community in Colorado on September 5 and 6, at the Cross Wind Community Church in Aurora
The Consulate on Wheels team then traveled to Colorado Springs on September 7 and 8 to assist the Filipinos in the area. The Outreach was held at the Connections 4 Life/Food Pantry Center in the neighboring municipality of Fountain, Colorado.
Deputy Consul General Jaime Ramon T. Ascalon, team leader, explained the consular services provided by the consulate, such as civil registration and dual citizenship.
A total of 318 passport applications, 34 acknowledgement and authentication certificates, 54 reports of births and marriages and 84 dual citizenship applications were processed in the outreach.
Article continues after this advertisementThe outreach includes Overseas Voter Registration for the 2016 presidential elections. A total of 332 kababayans were registered in Aurora and Colorado Springs.
